Wedding Flowers: Dahlias
Wedding Flowers: Dahlias

A recent trip to Paris and a visit to one of the cutest florists i've ever seen, sparked my newest obsession with Dinner Plate Dahlias (see pic below!). These divine, oversized flowers (approx 8" in diameter) create the perfect focal point for your wedding. Dahlia's look amazing clustered in a beautiful bouquet or as a standalone bloom to use in centerpieces and mismatched vases as decor.

The natural, whimsical aesthetic of these flowers make them the perfect choice for a rustic wedding and look amazing when contrasted with vintage or handmade decor. Dahlia's bloom in Summer, Autumn, Winter and range from rustic white, cream, bright yellow to deep red. Dahlia's look incredible on their own or mixed with other large flowers such as peonies. For a lighter feel, try mixing Dahlia's with smaller, whispy accents of scabiosa and mock orange. Another look to try is using a single Dahlia to decorate a simple white wedding cake.
